The Erasmus family of Mookgophong originated the idea to develop this unique estate.  They approached the initial professional team members to get the ball rolling to secure the rights to develop their farm into a golf estate and hydro. After persisting for more than a year, they succeeded in finalising the rights to develop the farm and signed a contract with former world number one lady golfer, Annika Sorenstam, to design the championship golf course.

The tranquil setting belies the challenging nature of the Annika Sorenstam-signature Euphoria 18-hole Championship Golf Course.  Annika Sorenstam, number one female golfer for the past five years, is the name behind the first lady-golfers' signature golf course in South Africa.  Sorenstam, who also consulted on the famous Mission Hills Golf Club, has dominated the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) for the past five years. This links like course provides a challenging, yet unique bushveld links experience for golfer. The combination of golf, game and the natural bush, together with the beauty of the Waterberg, makes this a top class and must see and play course in South Africa.

Euphoria Golf Estate & Hydro has a number of facilities, with the most noteworthy being the cableway which links the club house to a mountain top Sundower Deck Restaurant. It is believed that this is the first club house in the world to have a cableway and Euphoria prides itself in this achievement.

Euphoria also has an adjacent 2100 Ha game reserve called Euphoria Safaris which provides for nature drives and walks, bird watching, fishing, hiking and cycling. A Hydro will also be open at the end of 2008, drawing inspiration from the natural hot springs and providing natural healing treatments. Various restaurants are open on site, with delicious cuisine prepared by the Executive Chef.
