Food and Wine
With its magnificent natural beauty, its rich cultural heritage and its world-renowned wines - the Winelands Region is synonymous with all the best that the Cape has to offer. With a selection of over 200 cellars to choose from, you are guaranteed to taste some of the finest wines in the world. Just a mere 45-minute drive from Cape Town brings you to this area where splendid mountains form a dramatic backdrop to lush vineyards and gabled Cape Dutch homesteads steeped in history. Divided into six main wine regions, each offering their own unique wine route. Constantia, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Robertson and Wellington are the most popular.
These towns all boast fine restaurants producing gourmet fare to compliment the fine wines.
We at Golf Gourmet will tailor make any itinerary to suit any budget.
An example of such a combination could be a 3 day tour in and around Cape Town
Day 1
Arrive Cape Town around mid-day and drive along the Atlantic seaboard to Hout Bay for a bubbly tasting at Ambeloui (very small, private cap classique
Producer). Continue on to Constantia for another tasting (Klein
Constantia or Buitenverwagting perhaps) before taking the cable car
up Table Mountain for sundowners.
Evening at leisure

Day 2
Morning golf in the winelands followed by lunch (at the golf club or on the terrace at Grand Roche or at a private venue in Wellington (fantastic cook and lovely setting in the valley)
Wine tasting and cellar tour at a small garagiste producer in Wellington perhaps Nabygelegen or a visit to Bosman
Dinner at The Tasting Room, Le Quartier Francais.
Overnight at selected hotel
Day 3
Morning golf in Cape Town then onto a cooking class followed by dinner with Luke at La Colombe
Pre dinner tasting of Constantia Uitsig wines
Overnight at selected hotel
Day 4
Morning at leisure
Optional sailing catamaran trip with lunch (weather permitting)
Optional 20 minute helicopter flip with lunch at the Victoria and Alfred
Waterfront
Transfer to the airport for afternoon flight.
