Selborne has established an international reputation and is now regarded as one of South Africa's most sought-after golfing venues for tourists. The Selborne experience, weather as a visiting tourist staying in the hotel or as a permanent resident in the tasteful and stylish homes that unobtrusively are part of the estate, is shared with resident bush buck, grey duiker and the rare blue duiker. Monkeys and a myriad of birds take advantage of the natural habitat of the lush foliage, indigenous trees and stately palms that add an aura of grandeur to this well preserved and cared for environment.
The newly refurbished hotel makes a powerful impression with its mix of old world charm and discreet personalized service, whilst still maintaining all the cosmopolitan comforts and high standards that you would come to expect from a five star establishment
The golf course is a superb masterpiece affording golfers breathtaking scenery as they weave their way through manicured fairways and coastal forest. Created in 1985 when Denis Barker decided to turn his diary stud farm into a golf course, Selborne's claim to having one of the premier championship golf courses in the country is well justified when you consider the amount of both professional and amateur golfers from around the world who return every year for the pleasure it gives them.

Umdoni Park Golf Club situated a few kilometres from Selborne is one of the hidden gems of KwaZulu-Natal's golf coast. This 18 hole course is set within 200 hectares of indigenous coastal forest and is renowned for its fauna and flora and magnificent vistas.
